Theres very little to be said for the Morning…its a mess of ‘getting ready’ and doing what is ‘expected’ of you (or trying to avoid doing that – both equally painful)…sacrificing sleep, forcing down breakfast, rushing to ‘get somewhere’, deciding what clothes to wear, what college to apply to, what job suits you best…tedious planning just to make your day – or life – less tedious. Yes I get the irony.

Night, on the other hand, is a different matter altogether with its own set of intricacies. While a personal favourite, it does have a tendency to complicate things because of the numerous options available…which place to visit, which friend to hang out with, what to drink and when to stop ;) And always a niggling feeling at the back of your mind that the end is nearing…too fast and too soon…and you didnt get nearly half the things done which you wanted to (not necessarily ‘planned’ but just wanted to!).

But the Afternoon!…a warm sunny lazy liquid stretching expanse of endless possibilities. The only time they really leave you alone…you are free to ruminate on the memories of the morning – or look forward to the excitement of the night. And your heart beats a little faster because from here it could go either way…and in your head tonight is already the best one you’ve ever had. Its the time to catch up on your life…buy that sports car you were saving up for, tell that girl you love her (and mean it this time), say sorry to the friend you havent spoken to in years, fly off to Zanzibar – or decide to just do nothing at all! Make the most of it…its the only time you have before time runs out.

*An afterglow is a broad high arch of whitish or rosy light appearing in the sky due to very fine particles of dust – may appear above the highest clouds in the hour of deepening twilight, or reflected from the high snowfields in mountain regions long after sunset – Wikipedia
